The 2019 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Annual Community-wide Commemoration is once again upon us and we invite you to join in the celebration! It will be held at West Anchorage High School on Sunday, January 20th @ 3pm . In order for this effort to be successful we need your support. Bettye Davis African American Summit

The first annual Bettye Davis African American Summit is here! The overall goal of the summit is to serve as the principal forum and voice for the African American community in addressing critical issues of public policy and government. It will be held at Clark Middle School (150 S. Bragaw St.) on February 16th, 2019 @ 9am to 7pm. We want to connect culturally, building a network of support and possibilities together. All forums are designed to inspire attendees to build up and stand out as communities of color. Please come out and support us by attending!

We hope your new year is off to a good start. It’s hard to believe another year has come and gone. It certainly was an eventful one -- and a busy one here at Shiloh Community Development, Incorporated in terms of programs and activities completed, including undertaking of the 2015 Martin Luther King Jr. Community-wide Commemorative Program, planning and organizing SCDI’s annual 3-day conference “Speak Hope, Speak Love, Speak Life, the launching of our Far North Sister’s Keeper Mentorship Program, the expansion of our Young Lions Mentorship Program and the establishment of our Alonzo B. Patterson Job Placement and Workforce Development Center. In order for SCDI to continue it’s ambitious agenda, we need your support.

Accepting Applications for Boards & Commissions
The Municipality is always looking for concerned citizens who are willing to take part in our municipal government process and work hard to help make our community an even better place to live, work and play!

Each October, approximately one third (about 150) of the seats on municipal boards and commissions are appointed. Nearly all appointments are made for a three-year term Throughout the year vacancies occur on many of our boards and commissions. Applications are kept on hand as a resource for those vacancies.
